NASHVILLE, Tennessee (February 13, 2008) – Bandit Records executives Evelyn Shriver and Susan Nadler are pleased to introduce its newest country radio release, “Shortcut Home,” recorded by real estate developer and entertainment entrepreneur Ronnie Gilley.

Under the Bandit imprint, Gilley is immediately staged to release the single, “Shortcut Home,” * (written by: Jess Brown, Phillip Moore and Ray Scott) to country radio across the nation. Produced by James Stroud (Tim McGraw/Toby Keith/Clint Black--also formerly of Universal Music Group), the song is a musical narration of a man’s mission to take a shortcut home to return to his woman. In a composition authentic to traditional country music, it’s a crystal clear production featuring acoustic guitar, pedal steel and fiddle.

The idea behind the project developed when Gilley and Stroud worked together in the studio just before Christmas to record a song for Gilley’s fiancé. What was originally intended to be a musical holiday gift for a loved one grew to develop commercial appeal. Stroud recorded two sides, liked what he heard, and he brought the project to Bandit Records.

“Ronnie Gilley brings a slice of country music back into the mix,” Evelyn Shriver introduced. “He’s genuinely a good ole country boy at heart and that’s evident in his music. It’s not a single that’s country music slick; he and James pulled it all together to make it country music ‘real’.”

Gilley, who’s recently been recognized for his leading role in the Tracy Lawrence video “Find Out Who Your Friends Are,” joins the Bandit roster with the legendary voice of country music, George Jones.

“We need this kind of music and we need this kind of voice,” producer James Stroud said. “In addition to this single, Ronnie also has plans to record a tribute song for the benefit of the victims of the March 1, 2007 tornado in
Enterprise, AL. We’ve already received an outpour of support from our friends in music (George Jones, Tracy Lawrence, John Anderson, Darryl Worley and more) who will dedicate their time and talents to the project.” (The proceeds from the sale of the tribute single will be donated to The Jimmy Bowden Foundation established to rebuild the EnterpriseHigh School and support the victims who have suffered.) “What was to be a special gift for one has become a special gift for many—for country music lovers and the community of Enterprise, Alabama,” Stroud concluded.

The single, “Shortcut Home,” is slated for a March 3, 2008 release (CDX 443).  Al Schiltz and Mike Martinovich of The Consortium and Grassroots Promotion are spearheading the national marketing and radio promotion campaigns.

In support of the two singles, Bandit Records has signed on to release an entire CD project featuring Ronnie Gilley. Gilley plans to include an assortment of duets featuring some of his superstar pals. (A portion of the proceeds from CD sales will also be donated to The Jimmy Bowden Foundation). The yet-to-be-titled CD will be available by mid-summer.

The Weather Channel Presents the #1 Contemporary Jazz CD

The first-ever music CD from The Weather Channel, the "Smooth Jazz," collection of the most viewer-requested music heard during the network's local weather presentation "Local On the 8's," is the #1 Contemporary Jazz CD in the country.

Midas Records released the collection of songs which include music by such known artists as Dave Koz, Chick Corea, Najee, Pieces of a Dream, Jeff Lorber and others. The CD also includes three of the most-requested songs by independent artists heard only on The Weather Channel.

"This is just the first in a series of others to come as we continue to extend The Weather Channel brand," stated Shari Price, vice president of licensing and merchandising, The Weather Channel.

"The Weather Channel CD is taking retail by storm and what an extraordinary Storm Story it is. The success of this project proves that television is also capable of motivating a more mature demographic to purchase music. The CD booklet says it best 'people with an eye on the weather, have an ear for music.' We are looking forward to expanding this relationship and this series with The Weather Channel," stated Bob Morrison, head of sales and operations for Midas.

“In the ever-changing entertainment industry, we have discovered a unique avenue for exposure and distribution.  Our marketing partnership with the incomparable team at The Weather Channel is yielding great results,” added Mike Martinovich, partner in The Consortium who is spearheading new business opportunities with Midas Records in the development of concepts and repertoire for music projects for The Weather Channel.

In recent years, the number of selections have increased, and they are rotated to offer different styles during different parts of the day. This blend of many moods is captured on this CD which is available at major retailers.

Midas is distributed by Koch Entertainment in the
U.S. and Canada.

Since 2004, Artists Including Trace Adkins, Jason Aldean, Rodney Atkins, Dierks Bentley, Billy Currington, Charlie Daniels, Emerson Drive, Hootie & The Blowfish, Tracy Lawrence, Little Big Town, and Los Lonely Boys Have Contributed to Beneficial Partnership

NASHVILLE, TENN. (June 15, 2007)—Question: What do you get when you combine
America’s oldest major soft drink, today’s hottest music artists, and the world’s largest retailer?

Answer: A win-win-win situation where dedicated fans pack their local Wal-Mart store to meet their favorite performers, buy their latest music and sample Dr Pepper products.

Since September 2004 The Consortium, an entertainment management, marketing and consulting firm in Nashville, has coordinated the marketing efforts and logistics for this successful series of artist appearances.

The series’ 150th event will be held this Saturday, June 16, with Charlie Daniels in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Daniels calls his multiple series appearances “the best, most pleasant in-store appearances I’ve done. It’s wonderful to see that this far into my career, there are still people who relate to the music and want to come out and say hello and shake my hand. Plus, I got to drink all the Diet Dr Pepper I wanted.”

Other artists who have participated in the Dr Pepper-sponsored events include Trace Adkins, Jason Aldean, Rodney Atkins, Sherrié Austin, Jeff Bates, Dierks Bentley, Tracy Byrd, Deana Carter, Mark Chesnutt, Billy Currington, Charlie Daniels, Billy Dean, Emerson Drive, Erika Jo, Hootie & The Blowfish, Tracy Lawrence, Little Big Town, Los Lonely Boys, Neal McCoy, Lorrie Morgan, David Lee Murphy, Jamie O’Neal, Ricky Skaggs, Aaron Tippin, Darryl Worley and Chely Wright.

“The experience this company brings to the table, with Mike Martinovich’s 25 years at Sony and my own years in artist management, enables us to understand the challenges, opportunities and logistics involved in making these events work so well,” said Al Schiltz of The Consortium. “Through our partnership with Dr Pepper and our relationships with Anderson, Handleman, Wal-Mart, the record labels and artists, we capitalize on the strengths of all parties involved. We’re able to revitalize the classic in-store scenario and make it financially viable, even for new artists. We offer a turn-key plan for executing these events, including our own tour manager, which ensures that they are efficient and highly effective.”

The events often coincide with an artist’s album release and tour dates, providing additional marketing opportunities, including an occasional live, acoustic performance inside the Wal-Mart store. The events are also used to celebrate store grand openings and other special events. In October 2005 Chely Wright appeared on the former site of a Wal-Mart store in
Waveland, MS, to salute the brave residents in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina with a free concert and lunch provided by Dr Pepper.

Last September Dr Pepper hosted numerous signing events and concerts with major Latin artists—including Los Lonely Boys, Angela Via, P-Star, Brazeros Musical and Voz a Voz--in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month.

“Working with Dr Pepper has given us, the record label, additional promotional muscle and made these events much more cost-effective,” said Bill Kennedy, Vice President of Sales at Capitol Records Nashville.

“Anytime I’m planning a major artist’s release, I look to see how I can schedule some of these Dr Pepper-sponsored events at Wal-Mart,” said Ed Gertler, an independent sales and marketing consultant in
Nashville. “These release-week in-store appearances contributed significantly—as much as 16% in some instances-- to the first-week sales of the artists I work with, including Tracy Lawrence, Tracy Byrd and Neal McCoy, not to mention generating invaluable good will.”

“The success of these events has exceeded even our highest expectations,” said Andrew Springate, vice president of marketing, Dr Pepper. “Everyone walks away with more—the artists and their record labels, the stores, the local radio stations and media, and most of all, the fans, who turned out in droves to support their favorite artists."

Local media coverage is a key element in the success of the in-store appearances. Each event is presented and supported by a local radio station, usually with a live remote and weeks of on-air mentions and advertising, an advance phone interview with the artist and, when possible, a station visit by the artist. Local television crews cover the appearances for their evening newscasts, occasionally broadcasting live from the store. When possible, the artists visit local television stations to appear live on their morning or midday newscasts. Local newspapers alert their readers through advance features based on interviews with the artists, as well as calendar listings, column items and highlights.

The country label, which recently began operating from offices at 1108 16th Ave., plans to announce the signings of its first acts, including a Christian artist, in the next month, said one of the new team members, Brad Allen. Allen, a longtime Nashville-area music publisher, and hit songwriter Keith Follese are directing artist and repertoire functions for the new label. The two have collaborated as a publisher/songwriter team for years, placing more than 200 cuts with artists including Faith Hill, Tim McGraw and Martina McBride. Allen and Follese formed Midas publishing arm, Midas Music, with Clapper about a year and a half ago.  Clapper has also retained the services of The Consortium, a partnership group involving Stan Moress, Mike Martinovich and Al Schiltz, to lead artist development, marketing and public relations.

The Consortium, which had previously consulted with independent Nashville label Broken Bow Records, consulted with Clapper on his Los Angeles label for about two years before he decided to start the country label, Moress said.  I was extremely impressed by how Ron handled his business and himself, Moress said.  He's a great music guy, loves music and is very competitive.  Clapper made his mark designing arcade video games before starting his Los Angeles-based record label, which puts out CDs by R&B/pop artists Austin Brown and Angel Faith. Also involved in the label are Alan Seigel, formerly of Trans Continental Entertainment and Jive Records, and Bob Morrison, former vice president of J-Bird Records. Midas Records Nashville is in the process of assembling a radio promotions staff.

A trio of veteran artist managers, a hit songwriter and a publisher have teamed with other executives to start Midas Records Nashville. The new independent label is wholly owned by gaming and construction entrepreneur Ron Clapper. He also operates the Los Angeles-based pop label Midas Records.
In addition to Clapper, the team behind the
Nashville venture includes Mike Martinovich, Stan Moress and Al Schiltz, who are partners in Nashville management firm the Consortium.

They are joined by Bob Morrison and Alan Siegel. Morrison was previously VP of J-Bird Records. Siegel was president of Trans Continental Entertainment and director of marketing for Jive Records.

None of the executives will hold titles, but they will handle various marketing, sales, artist development and operational duties.
Heading A&R efforts for the label will be top
Nashville songwriter Keith Follese and music publisher Brad Allen. Follese's songs have been hits for Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Martina McBride, Lonestar and Randy Travis.

Clapper, Allen and Follese started publishing company Midas Music in Nashville late last year. Allen says they are in discussions with new and established acts about joining the roster of Midas Records, which is distributed through Alternative Distribution Alliance.

The Consortium’s management clients include Megan Mullins and Tammy Cochran.  The Consortium partners formed C4 Records in conjunction with Nashville indie label Broken Bow Records in 2002.
